Friday

Hi everyone!  Well, it is the end of November and that means the holidays are upon us.  Eeek!  After being sick for a week I just feel like I am so far behind and can't believe that so much still needs to be done.

I wanted to share with you a few projects I made for a call that didn't get picked up....sigh.  I did have one...so now I have two pubs under my belt.  woo hoo, me!

These are both based on sketches from Northridge Publishing.  The first is the family sitting around the fire in the back yard when my dad and step mother were here.  Gorgeous Simple Stories papers with bits of Prima bling and Petaloo flowers.  I added a bit of machine stitching and of course lots of pop dots.

And here my little (eh, eh) darlings on the beach in Hawaii.  They grow up so quickly.  Authentique Genuine papers with a few ZVA crystals, Prima flowers, and Webster's Pages trim.

Well, it is a cold, wet, rainy day here.  And Mackenzie is swimming at the Junior Olympics all weekend, so I best get moving.

Hugs.

That Barbie - She Really Does Have Everything

Hi everyone!  Today to share with you a project I made for my Ainsley and her Barbie collection.

If you are like me and have a girl that loves Barbie, you are probably always finding shoes, purses, and jewelry lying around.  It seems there is no "good" way to organize these items.  So, I decided to create a little "dresser" for Barbie to hold some of her accessories in;  you know, those shoes, brushes, and other accessories that always seem to be getting misplaced.  And besides...what girl doesn't need a little shabby goodness to help with her organization.
I used the Candy Box Sizzix die (don't forget to ask Kristina from Your Memories Here to pick one up for you if you don't have it) to create three separate boxes.  I painted the boxes and then covered them using the gorgeous Cashmere Dame collection from Glitz papers.
After painting the top with a coat of Rock Candy Crackle Paint I added some beautiful Prima blooms and bling
And finally a few buttons to the drawer fronts to complete the look.  These drawers are actually quite large and will easily hold dozens of Barbie shoes in each compartment.

What girl wouldn't love holding some little treasures in these sweet boxes?  And, I have more boxes planned in the coming weeks.  I know you are going to want this die.  hee hee

Hello Beautiful - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a project I made using this month's Home Sweet Home kit from the Sampler.  I have really been enjoying the wonderful textures and colors in this month's kit and think this might be my favorite project yet with this kit.

I am still learning about my light box, so forgive the funky shadows.  I think I may need more lights.  The three I have just don't seem to be enough and if I move them...well, you can see the funky glare coming from the left.  sigh....
I used a sketch from Page Drafts to help create this project.  If you haven't had a chance to check out their sketches, you totally should.

And speaking of sketches....You should definitely check out the sketch and card challenges over at the Sampler blog!  Lots of cool prizes to be won.

And We're Back...

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend.  Mine, as usual, was crazy busy...this time, not with swim, but with decorating for the holidays.  It seems I may go a bit overboard around here with setting up 5 trees...but I so love them...and each has a theme and all.  And, believe it or not...even with 5 trees I still had ornaments that didn't make it onto the tree because there just wasn't room.  I promise to come back and show you pictures of them all.

Well, the flu is still somewhat lingering around here...what's a girl to do.  Overall though we are feeling much better and hope to catch up on goings on soon.

For today I wanted to share with you this layout I did of my three lovelies using some older Basic Grey paper and a sketch from My Creative Sketches.

Lots of grungy Distress Inks, Gorgeous Petaloo flowers and ZVA bling.

Well, it is Monday so I guess I should get back to work.

My Girl - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Happy almost Thanksgiving to those of you in the US, and Happy Wednesday to those outside.  It is a cold, rainy day here...and I still have a touch of whatever it is that is making me miserable so this is going to be short and sweet.

Today I have a project made with the gorgeous Zephyr collection and other items from Prima.

I made the bricks on the page using a Prima brick mask, some fiber paste and a bit of Distress ink in Brushed Corduroy.   I then cut each individual brick out and placed it on my page.  Such a fun technique that I think I will definitely use again.
Of course I couldn't resist lots of gorgeous Prima blooms and butterflies , a few bits of Prima bling that I cut to stretch a bit further, and some gorgeous Alecon Lace.

Happy Friday

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a project I made using one of my good friend (are you tired of me saying that?  do you even notice) Heather's sketches.  I also dug out some of my old Halloween paper for this.

It seems these days that I am forever busy scrapping for someone else, so it is so nice when I have time to scrap for myself...and I am really enjoying reducing the stash by using up some of these older papers....not that I don't love the new stuff as well.

OK, Mackenzie at Halloween. .....

The Sketch....
and my take....

Well, this is such a spooky layout for Halloween.  Not because Mackenzie decided to NOT wear the costume we had purchased (a cute kigurumi Corgi...and no I did not pay that price for the costume), but at the last minute decided to be a rock star!  Eeek!!!!  Look at that makeup!   I think she just aged five years....and her dad 10!  lol  She carried her guitar case as her candy bag and looked like quite the rock star in her skinny jeans and leather jacket.

Feels so good to use up some older goodies...which are really still so very cute, even after all these years.  hee hee

Hope you have a great weekend.

Give Thanks - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a quick and simple card I made using a Sizzix Flip-it Card die, some goodies from the Your Memories Here store and a simple, vintage image I purchased from Twisted Papers.
These fun Sizzix dies make creating a card so easy.  Kristina is always happy to find your dies for you at a discount   No waiting for a sale, just shoot her an email and she will see if it is available.
Bits of Almanac papers and chipboard mixed with gorgeous Prima flowers, some seam binding (I dyed mine with Bundled Sage Distress Stain), a vintage image, and some leftover goodies on my table and I was done.
A simple, yet elegant card to show someone how much you care.

Happy Friday - Prima Mini Album

Hi everyone!  Well, today is Friday...hooray!  Unfortunately, it is a cold one.  Hard to believe just a few days ago I was wearing shorts, and today there is snow on the mountains around us.  sigh

Today I wanted to share with you a mini album I made using a kit I purchased from Your Memories Here.  I made only a few small changes to the album, so I can take no credit for the design.  This was designed by the fabulous Cari Fennell.

Kristina no longer has this kit in stock...but maybe if you emailed she could rustle up many of the supplies.  She is always happy to do special orders (and for a great price).

Well, going to be a busy weekend here.  Going to look at more colleges for Brighton, a few evenings with friends...plus all the usual fun and excitement.  Thank goodness there is no swim meet!  lol

Hugs.

you - your memories here

Hi everyone!  Today I am here to share with you another project I made using my fabulous grab bag from the Your Memories Here store.

I used bits of Prima Romance Novel mixed with lovely flowers, washi tapes, trinkets, canvas, and what has to be my new fave....Typo Bulbs for these photos of my Mackenzie at that farm I keep telling you about.  Goodness she is growing so fast, such a lovely young lady (and let me tell you...Phil is not happy about it. hee hee)

There are still a few grab bags left in the store, as well as gorgeous collection packs, paper packs, and of course...those typo bulbs.  Pop over and grab yours before they are gone.

And speaking of gone....that is me.  Busy busy day.

Smile - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a project I made with the November kit from the Sampler.  It isn't up in the store quite yet...but it will be...and it is FABULOUS!  Every month these kits get better and better. I know...I know...I keep saying this, but it is true!  Promise.

Anyway, as you may recall, I took the children to a small local farm a couple of weeks ago to take a few photos.  Gotta love fall in California!  It was hot.  So, for you today...a few photos of Ainsley playing around.

(Colors are a little washed out here...sorry)
I really love the colors and motifs in this kit.  The fun stickers, bits of jewels and little journaling bits, sigh.  So much fun.  How cute are the little butterfly stickers.  hee hee
Well, keep your eye out later today for photos of the full release...you won't be disappointed   And be sure to check out our card and sketch challenges.  No need to purchase a kit...and you could win some fabulous prizes.

Hugs.
